"Program-wide we did a good job today. One of the things that we're always looking for as a staff is balance among the different groups, and today we were able to get really strong finishes from not only our sprint/hurdle group, but also our distance, jumps and throws groups. All around it was a good team effort. Brandi Hughes in particular did a really good job today making the hurdle final and getting a PR in the 60 meter hurdles, and Sara Cella also did a good job in her first college indoor 800 meter."

UAB VULCAN INVITE HIGHLIGHTS
Freshman Brandi Hughes highlighted Tulane's efforts in the running events, recording personal bests in each of her two outings. Hughes also qualified for the 60m hurdles finals, where she placed third ahead of teammate Jessica Duckett. In the prelims of the same race, Hughes posted Tulane's fastest time in the event this season. Also on the track, the Green Wave recorded two additional pairs of top-three finishes, with Jessica Adamson and Sara Cella finishing second and third in the 800 meter and Mikayla Sonneborn and Emma Newton recording the same placings in the 3,000 meter.
In the field, senior Taylor Potts recorded her third consecutive top-three finish of the season in the shot put, coming away with a third-place effort on a mark of 14.91m (48-11.00). The Green Wave also shined in the pole vault for the second straight weekend, clinching places two through five behind an unattached competitor. Sophomore Rebekah Markel came away with the second-place finish on a jump of 3.65m (12-5.00), while freshman Parish Kitto hit a mark of 3.50m (11-5.00) for the first time in her Tulane career.
