BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – A slew of personal bests once again set the tone for the women of Tulane's indoor track & field team as the Green Wave wrapped up day one of competition at the Indiana Relays inside the Hoosiers' Gladstein Fieldhouse. Runners sporting the olive and blue would tally career-best times in each of the three track events of the day, with strong performances in the 60 meter hurdles highlighting Friday's outing in Bloomington.
INDIANA RELAYS HIGHLIGHTS
Sophomore Jessica Duckett and freshman Brandi Hughes opened up competition for the Green Wave at this year's Indiana Relays, putting on impressive performances in the prelims of the 60 meter hurdles to once again qualify for the finals in the event. Hughes, who finished in a personal-best 8.65, came within milliseconds of a school record in just her fourth collegiate appearance. Duckett, who currently holds the Tulane record in the event, put up her fastest time of the season to finish in 8.68.
Tulane's remaining four competitors on the track would also set personal bests, with freshman Maya Harewood coming away with an eighth-place finish in the 200 meter dash in a career-fast time of 25.25. Senior Jessica Adamson's 1:34.68 finish in the 600 meter would also prove a personal best for a fourth-place effort in the event, as would a 1:38.06 effort from freshman Sarah Cella in the same race.
Senior Taylor Potts closed out the day for the Green Wave with a toss of 14.15m (46-5.25) in the shot put.
