Green Wave to host Northwestern State and Southern

NEW ORLEANS -Â Another home doubleheader awaits the Tulane women's tennis squad (4-0) on Saturday when they host Northwestern State at 11 a.m. CT, followed by Southern University at 3 p.m. All home outdoor Green Wave matches are free to attend and take place at the City Park Pepsi Tennis Center located at 5900 Marconi Drive. LAST TIME OUT
Last weekend, Tulane competed in two indoor matches up North, first traveling to Nashville where they knocked off Belmont, 6-1, before trekking over to Eastern Kentucky where they won 6-1 as well.

SEEKING BEST START UNDER COACH SISK
Tulane is off to an unblemished 4-0 start to the 2017 season. In fact, the Wave have not surrendered more than one point in any match so far. Furthermore, in order to obtain the best ever start under head coach Terri Sisk, Tulane will have to top the 2015 squad's 7-0 start – who later finished the year 17-9.
Â
WHO'S HOT
Both Naz Karagoz and Elena Muller are off to 4-0 starts to the season in singles. Karagoz has been holding down the No. 1 spot to start her junior campaign, while Muller has won by a combined margin of 50-16 over on court four.
Â
DOUBLING UP
The Green Wave have yet to lose the double point this season, partially thanks to the court three pairing of Kyla Klier and Christina Sisti. The duo are off to a 4-0 start together after claiming victories by the following scores: 6-3, 6-4, 6-2, 6-2.
Â
IVONE DEBUTS
Sunday's match at Eastern Kentucky witnessed the debut of Tulane's third freshman and January arrival Ivone Alvaro. The Portugal native debuted at No. 4 singles, where she dropped a tight 7-6, 7-5, battle.
Â
AROUND THE CORNER
After this weekend, Tulane heads West for a double-dip in Tuscon, Arizona, where they'll challenge the Wildcats on Thursday, Feb. 2, followed by UTEP on Friday, Feb. 3.
