BATON ROUGE – Two Tulane women made their collegiate debuts and the team collected fifteen top-ten finishes, including an event title in the women's pole vault, as the Green Wave's indoor squad opened up the New Year at the LSU Purple Tiger. The Friday meet took place inside the Carl Maddox Fieldhouse in Baton Rouge and was one of Tulane's two trips to LSU this indoor season.
QUOTE
"It was good to have the team back from the long holiday and to get back into competitive action. I was impressed with Mary Carson Pitts winning the pole vault, and Taylor Potts also had a very good meet placing second in the shot put. And Brandi Hughes, a true freshman coming into this meet, made the finals and placed in sixth, coming within a tenth of her lifetime best. It's important for our team to get performances like this from our seniors, and we need that to spill over to the rest of the team to help everyone jump start the indoor season."
