NEW ORLEANS -- Tulane volleyball opens the final month of its regular season with a Homecoming weekend series against Tulsa and SMU at Avron B. Fogelman Arena in the Devlin Fieldhouse. The Green Wave play Tulsa, 7 p.m., Friday, and welcome SMU, 1 p.m., Sunday.

"Tulsa has won some big matches and is playing much better than when we first played them," head coach Jim Barnes said. "We've got to be ready to play at home and at a high level to beat this team. Both matches this weekend are critical for us to get a win streak going and build on the positives from last weekend. We went 1-1 at UConn and Temple, but, ultimately, we played better as a team and that's what we want to do. We've settled on a line up and hopefully that continuity will build this weekend, so we can try to get two wins at home."

Tulane began its conference schedule in September with a road trip to SMU and Tulsa. The Green Wave lost 3-1 at SMU, Sept. 22, before taking down Tulsa, 3-1, on Sept. 24, to earn their first conference win of the season.

Last time out, the Green Wave defeated UConn in five sets, Friday night in Storrs, Conn., to snap an eight-match losing streak, before dropping a Sunday matinee against Temple, 3-0. Sophomore middle hitter Erika Hansel tallied 14 kills in the win against UConn, while freshman outside hitter Lexie Douglas led with eight kills in the match at Temple.

Sunday's match against SMU is Camper Reunion Night. Campers from the Tulane volleyball summer camps will have access to a free ticket at the door, and parents can purchase discounted tickets for the match here.
