STARKVILLE, Miss. – After suffering from just their second loss of the spring season on Friday, the No. 22 Tulane (8-2) men's tennis team bounced back in emphatic fashion with a 5-2 victory over No. 38 North Carolina State. The Green Wave won the doubles point and won straight sets on four of the courts in singles.
"Great response out of the gate by our entire team," Tulane head coach Mark Booras said. "From the first point in doubles we looked like a different team then yesterday. I like how we carried the momentum through singles and executed well under pressure in several spots to pick up another solid win."
The new doubles pairing paid off as Constantin Schmitz and Chi-Shan Jao rolled to a 6-1 win on court one. Then the new pairing of Tyler Schick and Ewan Moore capture their first win with a 6-3 victory on court two.
In singles, No. 37 Schmitz bounced back after his first dual loss with a 6-2, 6-4 victory on court one. Freshman Ewan Moore picked up a big ranked win over No. 58 Nick Horton on court two via a 7-6, 6-2, decision. Schick and Jao then closed out the final score with straight set wins on courts four and six, respectively.
