Green Wave host Auburn on Friday and then North Florida on Sunday

NEW ORLEANS – The (RV) Tulane men's tennis team (4-1) is set for a double-dip this weekend at home at the City Park Pepsi Tennis Center. Up first, the Green Wave will challenge SEC foe Auburn (4-2) on Friday at 1 p.m., then will later host North Florida (2-3) on Sunday at high Noon.
LAST TIME OUT
The Olive and Blue improved to 4-1 on the young season last Sunday after handing Santa Clara its first loss of the season in convincing fashion, sweeping the Broncos, 7-0.
WAVE IN THE NATIONAL RANKINGS
The ITA released its updated team, singles and double rankings this past Wednesday and once again Tulane found itself flirting with the Top-25, yet again receiving votes. Junior Constantin Schmitz highlighted the updated listings by jumping 24 spots to a career high No. 30 in singles.
In addition, the Green Wave also found itself receiving votes in the inaugural USTA Top-25 poll, as voted upon by college tennis experts. Tulane finished one spot outside the Top-25, tying with TCU with nine voting points.
SCHMITZ PLAYER OF THE WEEK…AGAIN
After picking up his first conference weekly honor on Feb. 1 for knocking off now No. 11 Florian Lakat of California, Schmitz got The American's attention again this week, earning his second straight weekly accolade. Schmitz remains unblemished in dual action, now at 4-0, holding down the No. 1 singles spot for the Wave.
SCOUTING AUBURN
Auburn is off to a 4-2 start this spring, which includes a 4-3 victory over fellow American Athletic Conference member, UCF. However, the Tigers are coming off of a 4-3 loss to Georgia Tech.
In the latest Oracle/ITA rankings, Max Hinnisdaels ranks No. 91 in singles and No. 14 in doubles alongside partner Conner Huertas del Pino.
SCOUTING NORTH FLORIDA
North Florida enters the weekend with a 2-3 record which includes a 5-2 loss to No. 2 Wake Forest. The Ospreys most recently dropped a 4-2 decision to Georgia State on Feb. 4.
The Wave's No. 1 doubles pair will have a tall task in front of them on Sunday as North Florida now boasts the No. 2 nationally ranked doubles tandem in Jack Findel-Hawkins and Lasse Muscheites. On the singles side, junior Jefta Kecic moved into the rankings at the No. 74 spot.
