No. 40 Women’s Tennis Hits Road for Final Time in Regular Season

NEW ORLEANS – The No. 40 Tulane women's tennis team (17-5) hits the road one final time during the regular season when they travel to Louisiana Lafayette (5-6) for a Tuesday afternoon match-up at 3:30 p.m. against the Ragin Cajuns. It marks the first visit to Lafayette for the Green Wave since Feb. 22, 2005.

WAVE WEEKLY
Last Saturday, Tulane split its doubleheader, falling 4-3, to Louisiana Monroe, before bouncing back with a dominant 4-0 shutout over Rhode Island. The close loss to ULM marked the Wave's first defeat at home this season, now 9-1 on the year.

RISING WAVE
Both Sade Atkinson and Ivone Alvaro went 2-0 in singles play on Saturday. Both won by straight-sets each time and never allowed their opponent to win more than three games in a set. In fact, Atkinson's 6-0, 6-0 win over Rhode Island's Ariel Haber only took 35 minutes to complete.

DOUBLE TIME
Tulane has won the doubles point in 18 of its 22 matches. Furthermore, the Wave's team record is 15-3 when claiming the doubles point.

Muller and Naz Karagoz earned their first career doubles ranking on March 7, checking in at No. 76. The duo (11-7) now co-lead the Wave in victories alongside the court three pairing of Kyla Klier and Christina Sisti (11-5).

SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
Louisiana Lafayette enters the contest on a four-match win streak and a 5-6 record. Abby Johnson has gone unbeaten during the four-match stretch, improving to 5-2 in singles play. In doubles, the new pairing of Carla Ortega and Kelly Drew are off to a 3-0 start at the No. 2 spot.
