No. 30 Men’s Tennis Returns Home to Host Dartmouth on Thursday

NEW ORLEANS – The No. 30 Tulane men's tennis team (12-3) returns home for one match when they host Dartmouth (6-9) on Thursday at 3 p.m. at the City Park Pepsi Tennis Center. The Green Wave are undefeated, at 7-0, on their home courts this season.
WATCHING THE WAVE
The Olive and Blue are coming off of a 2-1 trip out West which culminated with them reaching the championship match of the San Diego Tournament. Tulane recorded back-to-back 4-0 shutouts over Arizona and San Diego before falling 4-2 to No. 24 Oregon.
Freshman Ewan Moore boasts the longest winning streak on the team with seven consecutive wins, improving to 10-3 this spring. In addition, Chi-Shan Jao follows right behind with six straight wins, moving his record to 7-1.
IN THE RANKINGS
Sporting a 12-3 record, Tulane remained at No. 30 in this week's Oracle/ITA rankings. Constantin Schmitz made a big jump in the singles rankings, moving from No. 38 to a career high of No. 18. In doubles, Sebastian Rey and Jao checked in at No. 61.
DOUBLE-TAKE
The Olive and Blue are 9-5 in doubles this season. When Tulane has claimed the early 1-0 advantage, they are 9-2.
REIGNING AMERICAN PLAYER OF THE WEEK
On Tuesday, the American Athletic Conference announced Constantin Schmitz as the league's player of the week. It marked his second conference weekly honor this spring. Schmitz defeated both No. 55 Filip Vittek of San Diego and No. 40 Thomas Laurent of Oregon.
QUICK LOOK AT DARTMOUTH
Dartmouth enters with a 6-9 record, with a 1-5 mark on the road. During the past week, the Big Green lost 4-1 at Rice but won 4-3 at LSU. Last year, the Green Wave and the Big Green met up twice. First, Dartmouth won 4-3 on their home courts before Tulane retaliated in the first round of the NCAA Tournament with a 4-0 shutout.
