USF LIVE SCORING | MEMPHIS LIVE SCORING
NEW ORLEANS – The No. 29 Tulane men's tennis team (13-3, 0-0) hits the road this week for its first pair of American Athletic Conference matchups. Up first, the Green Wave travel to Tampa to challenge No. 26 South Florida (11-6, 3-0) on Thursday, March 30, at Noon CT. Then, the Wave jet over to No. 34 Memphis (12-5, 1-0) for a Sunday showdown at Noon as well. Live scoring is available for both matches
WATCHING THE WAVE
Tulane competed in just one match last week, defeating Dartmouth, 4-1, in New Orleans to improve to 8-0 at home. Constantin Schmitz, Ewan Moore, Luis Erlenbusch and Chi-Shan Jao each picked up singles victories vs. Dartmouth.
Moore has now won eight straight to improve to 11-3 this spring. Jao follows right behind the freshman with a seven-match win streak to move his dual record to 8-1. Meanwhile, Schmitz still leads the squad with his 12-1 record.
IN THE RANKINGS
In this week's updated Oracle/ITA team rankings, Tulane moved up one spot to No. 29. The singles and doubles rankings did not update this week, thus Schmitz remains at No. 18 in singles, while the pair of Jao and Sebastian Rey stay at No. 61 in doubles.
DOUBLE-TAKE
The Olive and Blue are 9-6 in doubles this season. When Tulane has claimed the early 1-0 advantage, they are 9-0.
A LOOK AT USF
USF is coming off of a 2-1 trip at the BNP Paribas Open, where they lost 4-0 to No. 7 USC, but bounced back with wins over conference foes Tulsa and SMU. The Bulls enter the matchup 11-6 overall and 3-0 against league opponents, previously topping Tulsa again back on March 12. Last year, USF bested the Wave 5-2 in New Orleans and then 4-2 in the semifinals of the American Athletic Conference Championships.
Sasha Gozun is ranked No. 62 in singles and No. 50 in doubles alongside Alberto Barroso-Campos.
A LOOK AT MEMPHIS
Memphis is coming off of a 0-2 trip to the state of Texas, where they lost 4-1 to Texas Tech and 4-0 to No. 4 Baylor. The Tigers are 12-5 overall this season, including an unblemished 8-0 mark at home. Memphis has only faced one conference opponent thus far this season, defeating Temple 4-0 on March 15. Last season, Tulane swept Memphis 7-0 in New Orleans, then 4-0 in the quarterfinals of the conference tournament.
Andrew Watson is the lone Memphis player ranked in singles, checking in at No. 75.
