NEW ORLEANS – The Tulane University women's golf team will look to continue its strong start to the 2018-19 season this week, as it heads to the 43rd annual Ruth's Chris Tar Heel Invitational in Chapel Hill, N.C.
Â
The event is set to begin on Friday with competition concluding on Sunday. The three-day event will be held at the par 72, 6,379-yard UNC Finley Golf Course.
Â
"We're going against a great field, but four of our five players have played the course before, so we feel very comfortable on it," head coach Lorne Don said.
Â
The Green Wave will face off against some of the nation's top programs, including No. 9 Arkansas, Charlotte, Clemson, No. 10 Duke, No. 12 Furman, Louisville, Michigan, No. 23 Michigan State, NC State, North Carolina, Ohio State, Rollins, South Carolina, Tulane, UNCW, No. 1 Vanderbilt, No. 7 Virginia and No. 11 Wake Forest.
Â
Tulane will look to build on the momentum of its top five finish back on Sept. 17 at the USA Intercollegiate where it finished tied for fourth.
Â
"We have had a few weeks since our last tournament where we saw a lot of positive things," Don said. "We had a chance to work on some of the things that we need to work on and we're excited to get back out there and compete again."
Â
The lineup for the Green Wave this week includes sophomore Jennifer Rosenberg at No. 1, senior Laura Munoz at No. 2, freshman Isabella Cardenas at No. 3, junior Haydyn Gibson at No. 4, junior Gabrielle Correia at No. 5.
