Tulane Women’s Golf Places 15th at the Ruth’s Chris Tar Heel Invitational

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. The Tulane University women's golf team concluded competition at the Ruth's Chris Tar Heel Invitational on Sunday and finished in 15th place.
The three-day event was held at the par 72, 6,379-yard UNC Finley Golf Course.
The Green Wave fired a final round team score of 304 to close the tournament with a three-day score of 910. As a team, Tulane finished with 162 pars and 23 birdies.
Senior Laura Munoz led the way for the Green Wave, as she carded a three-round total of 222 and tied for 34th. Munoz posted a final round score of 77.
"We showed glimpses of what we are capable of this week from a lot of different places in our lineup," Don said. "Now we need to find that consistency across three days of competition next week in Texas."
Junior Haydyn Gibson was the next Tulane individual on the leaderboard, as she tied for 48th following a three-round score of 225. Gibson closed the tournament with a final round of 78.
Junior Gabrielle Correia fired the low round of the day as she shot even par, 72. Correia had four birdies on the afternoon en route to posting her lowest round of the year. Correia's even par round allowed her to move 14 spots up the individual standings.
"I was happy to see Gabby come back strong and finish on a good note," Don said.
Rounding out the Tulane lineup was sophomore Jennifer Rosenberg and freshman Isabella Cardenas, as they tied for 86th and 95th, respectively.
Duke won the tournament with a total score of 14 under par, 850, while Wake Forest's Emilia Migliaccio took home medalist honors, finishing 11 under par (205).
The Green Wave return to action on Friday as they head to the 2018 Betsy Rawls Invitational in Austin, Texas. The three-day event will be held at the University of Texas Golf Club.
