NEW ORLEANS – The Tulane beach volleyball team is set to wrap up its fall preseason schedule this weekend, hosting UAB at White Sands Volleyball Courts on Saturday at 9 a.m.
The Green Wave swept the Blazers in the team's 2018 preseason matchup, earning a 5-0 win. Senior Madeline Mertz and junior Anna Chin teamed up to serve as Tulane's No. 1 duo in the Green Wave Fall Invitational and went undefeated on the sand. The No. 2 pair, sophomore Tarin Mergener and freshman Ashley Delgado also went undefeated in duals action, leading the Olive and Blue to a win.
Tulane opened 2019 preseason play in the Gulf Shores Collegiate Clash last month in Gulf Shores, Alabama, competing against conference foes Florida State, LSU, Georgia Southern and Southern Mississippi, as well as Stetson and Spring Hill College.
The Green Wave will close their fall preseason schedule this weekend, switching their focus to preparing for regular season action in March.
Tulane owned a 23-14 overall record in the last season, going 4-7 in Coastal Collegiate Sports Association (CCSA) play while ending the season just one win away from breaking the program's all-time winning record.
