NEW ORLEANS - With juniors Mckenzie Melius and Emmanuel Rotich competing at the Mt. SAC Relays in Torrance, California, the rest of the Tulane track & field squad heads to Baton Rouge, Louisiana, for the LSU Alumni Gold on Saturday. The action opens at 9 a.m., starting with the women's discus throw.

Whenever we get the opportunity to compete at LSU, we like to take advantage because they will attract high-level out-of-state programs - Texas, Arkansas - and some really high-degree post-collegiate athletes that are also going to be participating. ABOUT THE MEET
Tulane squares off against a handful of local and regional collegiate programs, including Texas, Arkansas, Clemson, Southern Miss, Alcorn State, Grambling State, Hinds, Louisiana Tech, New Orleans, Northwestern State, Southeastern Louisiana, Southern, Southern-New Orleans, Texas State, Louisiana Lafayette and Louisiana Monroe.
The Green Wave's athletes will compete in events all across the track and field, including the men's 3000m steeplechase, men's 100m dash, women's 200m dash, men's and women's 400m dash, women's 800m run, men's and women's 1500m run, women's 100m hurdles, men's and women's 400m hurdles, men's 4x100m relay, women's 4x400m relay, women's long jump, women's high jump, women's triple jump, women's hammer throw, men's discus throw, men's javelin throw and women's pole vault.

Melius made history at the Mt. SAC Relays on Thursday night.
Her ninth-place finish in the 3000m steeplechase in a time of 10:34.20 is a new school record. The time tops the previous school best of 10:41.08, which she set herself at the Penn Relays in 2017.
