USTFCCCA Regional Rankings
NEW ORLEANS – The Green Wave men's cross country team ranked No. 13 in the South Central region for the second consecutive set of rankings announced by USTFCCCA on Monday afternoon.
The Green Wave began the year ranked No. 13 in the regional poll released two weeks ago, and since that poll Tulane earned a win in its first meet of the season.
On September 1 at the Nicholls Cross Country Invitational, Tulane got a team victory thanks to placing all five of its runners in the top 13 of the race. Carlos Zervigon got the individual victory on the 6K course at Nicholls Farm, and he was followed by Patrick Dougherty (7th), Tom Coe (10th), Joshua Cheruyot (11th) and Pierce Hill (13th).
Tulane's five runners had an average time 30 seconds faster than the closest team.
Competition heats up for the Green Wave this weekend as the team takes on the LSU Invitational on Saturday in Baton Rouge. The meet at Highland Road Park is set to begin at 7:30 a.m. for the women and 8:10 a.m. for the men with teams running a three- and four-mile course, respectively.
