NEW ORLEANS – The Tulane cross country teams will look to make it two victories in a row this weekend when they take on the LSU Invitational in Baton Rouge on Saturday.
The meet, held at Highland Road Park, will begin at 7:30 a.m. with a women's three-mile course. On the men's side, Tulane will race at 8:10 a.m. in a four-mile course.

Competing at the LSU Invitational against Tulane will be the host Tigers, McNeese State, UNO, Nicholls, Southeastern Louisiana, Southern and Louisiana-Lafayette. The LSU women are ranked No. 10 in this week's South Central region poll.
When the Green Wave women began their season two weeks ago, they took five of the top eight scoring places at the Nicholls Cross Country Invitational. Mckenzie Melius won the race as an individual while Mary Catherine Stovall and Reid Belanger placed in the top five. The women averaged a time 40 seconds faster than the next-fastest team.
The Green Wave men, ranked No. 13 in the South Central region in this week's USTFCCCA poll, took first place as a team as well last weekend. All five racers placed in the top 13 at the Nicholls Cross Country Invitational with Carlos Zervigon earning the win. Tulane's men ran 30 seconds faster on average than the next-fastest team.
After this weekend's meet, Tulane will leave the state for the first time this season. The Green Wave's next competition will be the Texas A&M Invitational on Sept. 22 in College Station, Texas.
