Men's Cross Country Holds On To No. 13 Regional Ranking

NEW ORLEANS – For the third consecutive week, the Green Wave men's cross country team is ranked No. 13 in the South Central Region according to the USTFCCCA poll released Monday afternoon.
The Green Wave earned the No. 13 ranking in the preseason poll three weeks ago and have remained steady at that position ever since.
This weekend, the Tulane men took fifth in the field at the LSU Invitational, and Evans Kipchumba provided a huge bright spot when he won the race as an individual. In his first-ever collegiate event, Kipchumba crossed the finish line of the four-mile course in 20:25.40.
Kipchumba was four seconds ahead of the second-place finisher, and the Tulane men's scorers all finished in the top 30.
The Green Wave men will have their toughest test of the season this weekend as they travel out of state for the first time. Tulane will compete in the Texas A&M Invitational in College Station, Texas, starting at 8 a.m. The 8K race will be the longest of the season so far.
