NEW ORLEANS – The Tulane men's tennis team will begin its second weekend of fall competition at the University of Virginia Masters Tournament in Charlottesville. The first of three days of action begins with doubles matches at 8 a.m. (CT), followed by singles at 11:30 a.m., on Friday, September 21 at the Sheridan Snyder Tennis Center.
The Green Wave will send all three of their ITA preseason-ranked singles players into the draw for their season debuts, including junior and 60th-ranked Ewan Moore, senior Tyler Schick at No. 103 and sophomore Hamish Stewart at No. 121. Also making the trip will be juniors Luis Erlenbusch, Dane Esses and Tim Ruetzel.
The tournament comprises one singles draw and three doubles brackets. Moore is seeded No. 10 in singles, while Schick is slotted 16th in the field.
At last weekend's Alabama Invitational in Tuscaloosa, Ruetzel won all six of his matches, including three-straight to win the top singles draw and a trio of contests with sophomore Akos Kotorman to claim the doubles crown.
