Jan 30, 2019 | Women's Bowling
NEW ORLEANS – Tulane bowling head coach Hayley Veitch has announced the signing of Jenica Baron to a National Letter of Intent to compete for the Green Wave beginning in the 2019-20 season.
Baron becomes the third addition to the class for next year, joining fellow signees in Kylie Frick and Amelia Vasquez who inked with Tulane earlier this year.
"Jenica has excelled in the classroom and on the lanes and I am excited to have her as an addition to our team," Veitch said. "Jenica is an ideal fit for Tulane and our athletic family."
The Illinois native has been one of the top performers in her conference, three times being named to the Mid-Suburban League all-conference team in her career. As a senior this year, she is currently in the top 10 in the MSL in pin average.
The two-time captain for the Fillies of Barrington High School, she finished 21st at last year's state tournament after shooting a high game of 276.
Nationally, Baron finished 20th at the national high school bowling championships and has been a fixture at the USBC Junior Gold Championships since 2016.
Academically, Baron ranks in the top 10 percent of her class with a 4.4 GPA, being the bowling representative on the BHS athletic leadership council as a junior and senior. She has also been awarded with AP Scholar with Distinction honors.
