Tulane Bowling Alumni Spotlight: Crystal Singh
May 7, 2026 | Women's Bowling
Tulane bowling continues to highlight its incredible alumni base by featuring Crystal Singh, 2022 graduate of Tulane University. Singh earned her degree as a double major in English and philosophy and is currently an attorney.
Â
A native of Coral Springs, Florida, Singh came to Tulane in the fall of 2018. She chose the Green Wave because of Tulane's unique mixture of high academic standing and proximity to a city so rich in culture that the only way to truly experience it is to live there. That proximity to New Orleans wound up becoming her favorite thing about being at Tulane. Singh said, "The culture that runs through the city locals is truly special and something that you have to personally experience to understand its unique identity."
Â
Singh was immersed in that culture for four seasons while a Tulane student-athlete. Through the ups and downs that came with experiencing the COVID-19 pandemic during the middle of her athletic and academic careers, she managed to remain steadfast and succeeded both on the lanes and in the classroom. Singh was honored multiple times on the Southland Bowling League Academic Honor Roll. She was honored in 2022 as an American Conference Scholar-Athlete of the Year in the at-large category. In 2019, she rolled a career-high score of 256 against Texas Southern, and she witnessed her teammate bowl the program's first-ever 300 game. But Singh left a mark beyond bowling in Uptown, founding the university's TedxTulane student organization.
Â
After graduating from Tulane in 2022, Singh attended law school at the University of Michigan and then passed the Florida bar exam. She is now a land use development attorney in Miami and has two Frenchies. She dubbed her career path a "personality match" as it was the only thing that she could imagine herself doing for 30-plus years. "The profession is just so flexible and rewarding if you let it be, and that's what makes it special," said Singh.
Â
Her time as a Tulane bowler left a lasting impact, as her biggest takeaway from four years in the Olive and Blue was that every opportunity builds on the previous to set up the foundation for the next. That takeaway feeds into Singh's advice to current and future Tulane bowlers as she said, "It is a blessing to be a D-I athlete, and it is an accomplishment that no one can take away from you, but it will not be perfect; far from it to be exact. So, if you ever find that things are starting to get difficult or that your love for the game is fading, remember how this all started and let yourself bask in the fact that this is all a part of an amazing journey that will continue long after you throw your last bowling ball. Even if things don't go the way you plan, your time at Tulane can always be used as a positive steppingstone to a fruitful future as long as you let it."
Â
Adding one last note of advice for Tulane student-athletes, Singh said, "A degree can stretch beyond its four corners if you let it. Don't be afraid to reach out to Tulane alumni, not just those that were athletes, to seek advice and career opportunities. The Tulane alumni community is very kind and will most likely be willing to offer a helping hand beyond what you expect!"
Â
Singh is a shining example herself of the success a Tulane degree can set up, and as a member of that expansive and caring alumni base, Singh continues to represent not just Tulane University but Green Wave bowling well.
