
Moore's Run Ends in Second Round at ITA Fall Nationals

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. - Tulane men's tennis senior Ewan Moore had his run through the singles draw at the 2019 ITA Fall National Championships come to an end in a straight-set defeat to UC Santa Barbara's Joseph Guillin.
Moore, ranked 36th nationally, earned a straight-set win over California's 75th-rankedYuta Kikuchi in the first round Wednesday to meet the 28th-ranked Guillin on Thursday.
Moore secured an early break, jumping out to an early 4-2 lead in the first set, but Guillin stormed back to knot things up at 5-5. The frame moved to a tiebreaker, where Guillin held on to take the set, 7-6(3).
Guillin used that momentum to stay on top in the second set before closing it out, 6-3.
Tulane returns to the courts in January for the start of dual match play.
