Lawson Garners AAC Weekly Honor Roll Recognition
Dec 2, 2019 | Men's Basketball
NEW ORLEANS - Tulane men's basketball graduate student K.J. Lawson has been named to the American Athletic Conference Weekly Honor Roll in an announcement by the league office Monday.
The Green Wave are now 4-for-4 having a student-athlete receive the weekly honor this season, as Jordan Walker was listed Nov. 11 and Nov. 25, while Teshaun Hightower was recognized on Nov. 18.
In Tulane's lone game last week, Lawson scored a career-high 30 points and grabbed six rebounds in an 82-65 win over Southern on Sunday afternoon. At one point, Lawson made 10 consecutive field goals while connecting on all three of his 3-point attempts. He also converted seven of 10 free throw attempts, as his 30 points topped his previous best of 28 against Houston back in January 2017.
Lawson is the only Green Wave player to score in double-figures in all seven of the team's games this season. The Memphis, Tenn., native leads the squad in field goal percentage (.543) and stands second in both scoring (16.4 ppg), rebounding (4.7 rpg) and 3-point field goal percentage (.448).
Tulane plays its first true road game of the season at Southern Miss on Wednesday, December 4. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m., at Reed Green Coliseum.
