Women's Tennis Drops Road Match at No. 22 Texas Tech

The Green Wave (4-5) threw the first punch to start doubles action when the duo of Ivone Alvaro and Elena Muller cruised to an impressive, 6-2 doubles victory in the No. 1 spot over the nation's 40th-ranked tandem comprising Felicity Maltby and Neil Miller to establish some early momentum. The Red Raiders (5-3) evened the scored with 6-2 win at No. 2, before edging out the Wave at No. 3, 6-4, to clinch the doubles point and take an early 1-0 advantage in the overall match.
Texas Tech did not give Tulane another inch for the duration of singles play, winning five matches straight sets and the sixth in a third-set tiebreaker to complete the 7-0 shutout.
Tulane heads to Dallas to take on American Athletic Conference foe SMU on Sunday, February 17. First serve is set for noon.
