NEW ORLEANSÂ - The Tulane University women's golf team returns to action on Sunday as it welcomes 17 teams from across the nation for its lone home tournament of the year in the 2019 Allstate Sugar Bowl Intercollegiate Championship.

The Green Wave will play host to the three-day event at the par 72, 6,239-yard English Turn Golf and Country Club.
Tulane returns to action for the second this spring. The Green Wave opened their spring campaign at the UCF Challenge where they posted a three-round score of 884. Tulane's tournament total of 884 was its second-best score of the year. Senior Laura Munoz enters this week's tournament as the Green Wave's top individual where she posted an average of 74.66 in five tournaments. Sophomore Jennifer Rosenberg leads the team with four rounds under par this year. Her opening round 68 at the UCF Challenge is the team's lowest round of the year.

The Green Wave will matchup against one of the nation's top field that include: USC (1), Texas (2), Florida (3), Duke (4), Arizona State (8), Auburn (11), South Carolina (17), Washington (19), Miami (27), Michigan State (30), North Carolina (32), UC Davis (40), NC State (45), Houston (46), SMU (49), LSU (57) and Oklahoma State (74).

Throughout the offseason and into the preseason, Don has been pleased with the team's progression and has high expectations for the team, which features a strong balance of youth and experience.

Seven different conferences are represented among this year's slate of competitors, including each Power 6 conference. The 18 teams have combined to win 21 national championships.

Arizona State (1990, 1993, 1994, 1995, 1997, 1998, 2009, 2017) has eight titles, Duke (1999, 2002, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2014) has six titles, USC (2003, 2008, 2013) has three titles and Florida (1985, 1986) has two titles while Miami (Fla.) (1984) and Washington (2016) each have one.

The lineup for the Green Wave this weekend includes junior Haydyn Gibson at No. 1, sophomore Jennifer Rosenberg at No. 2, senior Laura Munoz at No. 3, senior Sofia Goicoechea at No. 4 and freshman Isabella Cardenas at No. 5. In addition, junior Gabrielle Correia and senior Abbie Cantwell will compete as individuals.
