NEW ORLEANS – The Tulane women's tennis team faced its third straight loss on Friday afternoon, falling to ECU with a 4-1 score.
The Green Wave started the day off strong, earning the doubles point with a 7-5 win from senior Elena Muller and junior Ivone Alvaro on court one and a 6-4 win from junior Laura Fabrizi and sophomore Daniela La Fuente on court two.
Heading into the singles matches, ECU came out fighting and took the wins in the No. 1 and 3 spots, defeating Fabrizi and Alvaro in two sets to take a 2-1 lead.
Muller, La Fuente, junior Christina Sisti and sophomore Alex Alegre all took the Pirates to three sets, but Muller and Sisti were not able to pull out the wins on courts two and five, handing the visiting team the match after a tough battle.
