Men's Tennis Blanks No. 46 Old Dominion, 6-0

NEW ORLEANS – The Tulane men's tennis team got back to its winning ways Friday afternoon with an impressive 6-0 home win over No. 46 Old Dominion at the City Park Tennis Center.
The Green Wave (5-10) used an impressive start in doubles play, as Luis Erlenbusch and Dane Esses cruised to a 6-1 win on court three, before Akos Kotorman and Hamish Stewart won by the same count on court two to clinch the first team point of the match.
The doubles point belonged to the Wave for the first time since its second match of the season against Alcorn State on January 21.
Tulane continued its surge into singles action, claiming the first set on five of six singles courts.
Ranked No. 72 nationally, Erlenbusch made quick work of Jannik Giesse on court three, 6-3, 6-1, before Stewart notched a comeback win over Francois Musitelli, 3-6, 6-4, 6-1, on court two to push the Monarchs (7-7) to the brink.
Strapped with a 3-0 advantage in the overall match, the Green Wave continued its roll when Tyler Schick closed out a tough, 7-5, 7-6(2) win on court four against Luca Maldoner.
Akos Kotorman extended the lead to 6-0 with a 6-3, 4-6, 6-3 victory over Oliver Tobisch on court six.
Tulane will have one day to prepare for its next match on Sunday, March 17 against Pepperdine. First serve is set for 1 p.m., in City Park.
