Men's Tennis Takes Down No. 38 Harvard, 4-2

SAN DIEGO – The Tulane men's tennis team continued its spring resurgence with a 4-2 victory over No. 38 Harvard in the semifinals of the 2019 San Diego Spring Invitational on Saturday afternoon at San Diego State University.
With the win, Tulane (8-10) advances to Sunday's championship match against host and 36th-ranked San Diego. First serve is scheduled for noon (CT).
The Green Wave got the day started with a big win at No. 1 doubles when Ewan Moore and Tyler Schick upset the Crimson's (10-5) 33rd-ranked tandem, 6-3. Despite Harvard responding with a 6-4 win at No. 3, Akos Kotorman and Hamish Stewart closed out court two, 7-5, to clinch the doubles point and give the Wave a 1-0 lead in the overall match.
Tulane pushed its lead to 2-0 early in singles action when Dane Esses earned a straight-set win on court five, but Harvard got a pair of wins on courts one and four, respectively, to even things up.
The Green Wave used five first-set victories to remain in control however, as the 96th-ranked Luis Erlenbusch closed out a 6-4, 6-3 win on court three before Kotorman clinched with a 6-3, 6-4 victory on court six to send Tulane to the title match.
