Meet Results
STANFORD, Calif. – Tulane distance runner Emmanuel Rotich had his best 3K steeplechase of the season late Thursday night, knocking almost three full seconds off his previous fastest time of the season at the Payton Jordan Invitational.
Rotich finished his heat in second place with a time of 8:41.05 in a highly competitive and very fast field.
The senior's previous fastest time this season of 8:43.96 also came on the track at Stanford back in late March. Rotich's Thursday time of 8:41.05 would rank him second in the NCAA East Region (up from third) and sixth in the nation entering the day (up from 10th).
The rest of the Green Wave men's track and field team will compete tomorrow night in Houston at the Tom Tellez Invite. It will be the team's final regular-season meet before the American Athletic Conference Outdoor Championships on May 10-12 in Wichita, Kansas.
