Men’s Tennis Opens 2019 Fall Season at Alabama

NEW ORLEANS – The Tulane men's tennis team gets its first dose of competition with the start of its 2019 fall season in Tuscaloosa, Alabama on Friday, September 13 for the first of three days of matches at the Crimson Tide "Four in the Fall" Invitational.
It will mark the fourth consecutive season the Green Wave begins fall play in Tuscaloosa, as seniors Dane Esses and Tim Ruetzel start their final season. Freshmen Benji Jacobson and Henry Lovett will experience their first matches at the college level, as the Wave will form a pair of doubles tandems to enter into the draws.
In addition to Tulane, schools sending players into the draws for this year's event include Alabama, UAB, Georgia, Mississippi State, Oklahoma, Ole Miss, South Alabama and Tennessee.
Last season, Ruetzel notched a perfect weekend with a 3-0 record in singles and doubles, respectively, to lead the Green Wave.
Tulane returns an experienced core led by the senior leadership of Luis Erlenbusch, Ewan Moore, Esses and Ruetzel. Juniors Akos Kotorman and Hamish Stewart also return as letterwinners for the Green Wave. Jacobson, a redshirt freshman, as well as Lovett and Joseph Daw round out the Wave's fall roster.
