Women's Tennis Moves to 4-0, Takes Down Southern and Southeastern

NEW ORLEANS — The Tulane women's tennis team moved to 4-0 on the season after earning wins over Southern and Southeastern Louisiana at the City Park Tennis Center on Saturday.

Lauren Gish and Adelaide Lavery led the way for the Green Wave, as the two each recorded singles wins in both matches on courts three and four.

Christina Sisti was strong from the No. 5 singles spot against Southern (0-2), putting together a win, while Lahari Yelamanchili had an impressive performance from the No. 2 singles position against Southeastern (0-1).

The No. 1 doubles pair, in Gish and Mackenzie Clark, proved to be victorious in both matches. Sisti and Laura Fabrizi won their doubles match against the Jaguars, while Lavery and Yelamanchili beat out the Lions in the second match of the day.

The Olive and Blue put together 4-0 sweeps in both matches in the afternoon, with Lavery's court three win clinching the first and Yelamanchili's performance solidifying the win in the second to put the team at 2-0 on the day.

The Green Wave are back in action next Friday, headed to Baton Rouge to take on LSU at 4 p.m.
