NEW ORLEANS – The Tulane men's tennis team plays its third straight match away from its home courts when it makes the short trip to Baton Rouge for a matchup against LSU on Friday, January 31. First serve is scheduled for 4 p.m., at the LSU Tennis Complex.
SCOUTING LSU
The Tigers (5-1) enter Friday's contest with a 4-0 record at home this season, but are coming off a 4-3 neutral-site setback to Dartmouth on Sunday in Tuscaloosa, Ala. LSU's wins include Alcorn State (twice), Incarnate Word, VCU and Virginia Tech. Boris Kozlov represents the Tigers' highest-ranked player at No. 85 nationally in singles, while Malik Bhatnagar has been the team's top performer this spring with a 5-1 overall record and a 4-1 mark at the No. 1 spot in the singles lineup.
IN THE RANKINGS
The Green Wave possess three players listed in the ITA's national singles rankings, led by senior Ewan Moore at No. 32. Senior Dane Esses holds the No. 47 spot, while junior Hamish Stewart stands at No. 90.
DOUBLES DOMINANCE
Juniors Hamish Stewart and Akos Kotorman combine as Tulane's best doubles tandem, and have won 10 consecutive dual doubles matches dating back to the 2019 spring season. The duo posted an 11-1 record at the No. 2 spot in the lineup last spring, including a 3-0 mark against American Athletic Conference foes.
