
Swimming Readies For Day Two at Rice

NEW ORLEANS — Tulane swimming and diving stands in second after one day of competition at the two-day dual meet against Rice.
"We are thankful that we are able to compete," head coach Leah Stancil said. "It is clear that we still have some technical things to work on but these should be relatively easy fixes. I am looking forward to moving forward with training after this weekend."
Sophomore Lilly Byrne led the way for the Green Wave in the 500-yard freestyle, finishing first with a time of 4:52.44. Junior Noa Heron followed right behind her, crossing the finish line in second with a time of 4:46.58.
Junior Iza Pelka and sophomore Hailey Roberti finished in third and fourth respective places, with times of 5:02.67 and 5:06.83.
In the 50-yard freestyle, freshman Riley Hendrix finished second for the Olive and Blue with a time of 26.36. Sophomore Ashley Carollo and senior Courtney Barker finished fourth and fifth, respectively, with times of 26:91 and 27:36.
Senior Kate McDonald led the way for Tulane in the 200-yard IM and the 50-yard breastroke, taking the top spot in both events with respective times of 2:05.21 and 29:52.
Tulane finished second in the 400-yard medley relay, as freshman Danielle Titus, McDonald, sophomore Mya Drost-Parra and Barker made their way to the finish line.
The Green Wave are back in action tomorrow, continuing competition against Rice starting at 10 a.m.
