Rosenberg Shines at Joanne Winter Arizona Silver Belle Championship
Dec 30, 2020 | Women's Golf
PHOENIX, Arizona – Tulane University senior golfer Jennifer Rosenberg concluded competition on Wednesday at one of the nation's top amateur women's golf events, as she tied for eighth at the Joanne Winter Arizona Silver Belle Championship.
Rosenberg finished with a three-round total of six-over-par, 222. She closed out the event on a high note, carding a final round score of 73.
"The course was beautiful with really tough greens that made it very difficult to sink putts and scores were high at this tournament because of that reason," Rosenberg said. "I'm happy I was able to bounce back with a solid round today in tough conditions. It was a pleasure to be able to play in such a prestigious event and I will definitely be back next year."
Rosenberg enters her final season as one of the Green Wave's most experienced golfers.
"Competing over the offseason will be key to our team's success this spring," Tulane head coach Stew Burke said. "Jenny played great in an elite field which included the top college players in the country."
Founded in 1971 by Joanne Winter, LPGA, the Joanne Winter Arizona Silver Belle Championship was to encourage competition in golf for young women amateur golfers under the age of 24. Today, it is nationally recognized and included in the ranking of amateur players by World Amateur Golf, Golfweek, Golf Stat, Junior Golf Scoreboard and AJGA.
The event was held at Briarwood Country Club. Briarwood has hosted the U.S. Senior Women's Open Qualifier, Arizona Senior Women's Championship as well as several other state tournaments.
