NEW ORLEANS, La. – The No. 29 Tulane Green Wave baseball team opens a three-game, non-conference homestand Friday night at Greer Field at Turchin Stadium, hosting the Middle Tennessee State Blue Raiders beginning at 6:30 p.m.
Â
The set of games gets underway Friday night with the series opener, shifting to a 2 p.m. start for game two on Saturday, with Sunday's finale beginning at 1 p.m. in New Orleans.
Â
All three games of the series will be streamed online through Tulane All-Access, with audio coverage taking place on WRBH 88.3 FM Friday and Sunday with Andrew Allegretta, and on Saturday through Tulane All-Access with Daniel Sallerson.

Â
The Green Wave come into the third weekend series of the season looking to bounce back after a tough outing Wednesday night against the New Orleans Privateers where the team suffered a 10-1 defeat. The loss, the first at home this year, dropped the team's record to 6-2 on the season.
Â
However, Tulane has proven to be a tough team to face on weekends as the squad has yet to drop a series after claiming the first one at home against Florida Gulf Coast and going on the road the next week and doing the same against Cal State Fullerton.
Â
Tulane comes into the weekend batting .256 at the plate, led by Grant Mathews who leads the team with a .379 batting average with his 11 hits, eight RBI and .552 slugging percentage. Junior Trevor Minder has swung a hot bat through the last week, as he's hitting .333 with nine hits and five RBI, leading the team in walks drawn with six.
Â
On the mound, the team will be led by reigning American Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week Braden Olthoff, who currently leads the nation in strikeouts with 26 and sports a 2-0 record with a 0.60 ERA. With his performance in the opener, striking out 16 and holding the Titans to just three hits in the win, Olthoff became the first pitcher since Ross Massey in 2016 against Cincinnati to throw a nine-inning complete-game shutout.
Â
As a staff, Tulane pitchers combine for a 2.92 ERA through eight games and includes 73 strikeouts to 39 walks issued, with an opponent batting average of .214.
Â
The Blue Raiders come into the series coming off of a 12-6 loss to the Alabama Crimson Tide on Wednesday night in Tuscaloosa, dropping Middle Tennessee's record to 3-5 on the season.
