Apr 10, 2020 | Women's Swimming and Diving
NEW ORLEANS - As the Green Wave prepares for the upcoming 2020-21 season, TulaneGreenWave.com will introduce you to the next wave of incoming freshmen that will compete for Tulane, beginning in the fall. Check out TulaneGreenWave.com each Friday throughout the spring to learn more about the newest member of the Green Wave swimming and diving team.
Today's Incoming Freshman Spotlight features Riley Hendrix from Atlanta, Georgia.
What's something that makes you excited to be part of the Green Wave?
"Something that makes me excited to be a part of the Green Wave is the all around outstanding athletic teams - each one is held to a high standard, and I can't wait to be a part of it!"Â
Â
Are you nervous about anything starting college?
"I'm not nervous about much, but if there's one thing I'm nervous about, it would be finding all my classes!"Â
Â
What were your first impressions when you visited New Orleans and Tulane?
"My first impressions of Tulane and New Orleans were good! When I first got to Tulane, I remember thinking how pretty it was- campus is beautiful! Since I'm from Atlanta, the weather and layout of NOLA was pretty familiar, going downtown to eat was so pretty! The buildings, the music, the shops, it was really fun."
Â
Is there anywhere you're excited to go again or looking forward to around the city?
"I'm pretty excited to go out to some of NOLA's greatest restaurants; we saw a few on our visit, but it has so many more great places to eat out, and I'm excited to try them!"Â
Â
How do you hope to contribute to the Swim and Dive Team?
"In joining the swimming and diving team, I hope to contribute in a positive, uplifting atmosphere for my teammates to train in. Since it's up to us to create the standard for attitude and hard work, I want to help in raising it."Â
Â
And lastly, something unique about you!
"Something unique about me is that I have a really good since of direction - I could go one place once in a car, and get back there with no problem without a map. No matter how long it's been or how long the drive, if I recognize the route, I can correctly get to where I need to be."
