
Volleyball Hosts Memphis and SMU at Home

NEW ORLEANS – The Tulane University volleyball team will host Memphis and SMU this weekend for a pair of matchups. The Green Wave open week eight hosting the Tigers on Friday and end homestand with Mustangs on Sunday.

Tulane meets Memphis for the first time this season after the Wave took both from the Tigers last season. Although Tulane does not hold the overall advantage in the series with Memphis (25-30) head coach Jim Barnes has a 6-3 record against Tigers during his time Uptown.

Tulane was picked fourth in 2021 American Athletic Conference Volleyball Preseason Poll, returning nearly the entire roster from the spring 2021 season. After seven weeks of play the first place belongs to three teams tied with 5-1 records. While Tulane and Tulsa occupy the next spot donning 4-2 clips. The two competitors this weekend Memphis (eighth) and SMU (ninth).
AWARDS
The Green Wave picked up two preseason all-conference team selections in seniors Lexie Douglas and Kayla Dinkins. Tulane has also earned four AAC weekly honor roll selections in Michelle Urquhart, Anna Davis, Douglas and Dinkins.
