Tulane Women’s Tennis Concludes Play at the ITA Southern Regionals
Oct 17, 2021 | Women's Tennis
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Tulane University women's tennis team wrapped up competition at the ITA Southern Regionals on Sunday.
Â
Three players reached the round of 16 in the tournament including junior Lahari Yelamanchili who ultimately fell just shy of advancing to the quarterfinals of the singles bracket. Joining Yelamanchili with an appearance in the round of 16 was the duo of Kristen Borland and Adelaide Lavery who dropped their match to advance to the final eight in the doubles bracket.
Â
"I am very proud of the girls for the way they bounced back and competed throughout the tournament," head coach Maria Brito said. "We knew it was going to be very challenging being our first tournament since we had to cancel two tournaments due to the hurricane. We got better each day and we are taking steps in the right direction. Can't wait to get on the court and get ready to get back to work."
Â
The Green Wave will be back in action in a return trip to Tuscaloosa, Alabama for the Roberta Allison Classic Oct. 29-31.
