Volleyball Takes On Cincinnati and ECU this Weekend at Home

NEW ORLEANS - The Tulane University volleyball team will welcome Cincinnati and East Carolina to New Orleans this weekend for a pair of home matchups. The Green Wave will face Cincinnati on Friday, followed by a matchup against East Carolina Sunday.

On Friday, the Green Wave will look to bounce back from their October loss against Cincinnati. Tulane has taken the last two home meetings against the Bearcats.

This will be the second time Tulane has faced East Carolina this season. In their October matchup, Tulane took East Carolina to five sets before claiming a 3-2 win.

RANKINGS
Tulane was picked fourth in the 2021 American Athletic Conference Volleyball Preseason Poll, returning nearly the entire roster from the spring 2021 season. Tulsa and Wichita saw back-to-back selections for 9th and 8th respectively. After nine weeks of play, Tulane sits with Tulsa in a two-way tie for fourth in the AAC at 7-5. Wichita State is one of three teams tied for third at 8-4.

AWARDS
The Green Wave picked up two preseason all-conference team selections in seniors Lexie Douglas and Kayla Dinkins. Tulane has also earned four AAC weekly honor roll selections in Michelle Urquhart, Anna Davis, Douglas, Dinkins and Mackenzie Martin. Dinkins captured her second honor roll selection with her performance last week against Tulsa and Wichita. State. The middle hitter 18 kills averaging 3 a set while hitting a staggering .378, she is responsible for 23.5 of Tulane's points on the week.

Tulane holds three places on the AAC's top 20 leaderboard in hitting percentage in Anna Davis, Kayla Dinkins and Yvette Burcescu.
Tulane is second in hitting percentage in the AAC with a .243 clip.
Tulane has earned AAC weekly honor roll selections in Michelle Urquhart, Davis, Douglas (3), Dinkins (2) and Mackenzie Martin.
Dinkins sits at fifth in school history in block assists with 366.
Douglas is third in program history with 1524 kills.
Taylor Henigsman leads the Green Wave with 6 double doubles this season, Urquhart follows closely with 4, Lexie Douglas comes in third with 3 and rounding out the group is Chelsea Harvey with 1.
Henigsman leads the AAC in assists per set this season averaging 10.08 assists a set.
Douglas is 11th in the AAC in kills, Urquhart follows closely in 14th.
Douglas is 10th in the AAC in points, Urquhart follows closely in 11th, and Dinkins rounds out the list in 19th.
Henigsman is seventh in program history in assists at 2,375.
Jillian Dits sits in 15th in the AAC with 246 digs averaging 2.83 a set.
Earlier in the season, Martin broke the program record for most digs in a single match, 41.
