
Tulane Welcomes TCU for a 6 p.m. Tipoff on Wednesday

TULANE VS. TCU NOTES
NEW ORLEANS –Tulane University women's basketball team returns to action in Uptown on Wednesday, as it welcomes the TCU Horned Frogs. Tipoff is set for 6 p.m. inside the Avron B. Fogelman Arena in the Devlin Fieldhouse.
The Green Wave's matchup with the Horned Frogs will be aired live on ESPN+. Fans can watch the game live by CLICKING HERE. Fans also can listen to the contest live on the Tulane Sports Network from Learfield on 88.3 WRBH with Gus Kattengell or streaming on the Tulane Athletics App and The Varsity Network App.
This will be the 10th meeting all-time between Tulane and TCU. The Green Wave holds a 5-4 advantage in the series despite the Horned Frogs winning the last three matchups. The last time the Wave beat TCU came on February 23, 2003, inside the Avron B. Fogelman Arena in the Devlin Fieldhouse 74-65.
In her 28th year at the helm of the Green Wave, head coach Lisa Stockton enters the matchup with a 3-3 record against TCU during her time in Uptown.
This season, Stockton's staff welcomes back 10 letterwinners, four newcomers and four starters, including All-American Athletic Conference honoree Krystal Freeman who averaged 12.3 points and 7.8 rebounds for the Green Wave last season. Tulane brings back 67.8 percent of its scoring and 82.3 percent of its rebounding from the 2020-21 season.
After winning its first two games of the season, Tulane looks to start 3-0 for the first time since the 2018-19 season. The Green Wave are coming off a 69-66 road victory over Alabama on Sunday, Nov. 14. Four of the Wave's five starters posted double figures in the scoring column in Tuscaloosa as redshirt junior Dynah Jones led the way with 15 points. Freeman followed with her first double-double of the season and the 23rd of her career tallying 14 points and 11 rebounds.
The Green Wave opened the 2021-22 season with a 66-58 victory over Southeastern Louisiana in New Orleans on Nov. 9. Offensively, the Green Wave had four players score in double figures while forcing the Lions into 17 turnovers on the defensive end. Jones led Tulane with 16 points on 6-of-13 shooting while Moon Ursin posted 15 points and eight rebounds in her Uptown debut.
Four players are averaging double digits in scoring for the Olive and Blue through two games this season. Jones leads the team averaging 15.5 points per game. Joining her in double figures are Ursin (13.5 ppg), Freeman (13.0 ppg) and Arsula Clark (12.0 ppg).
The Horned Frogs are coming off a 78-48 win at home over Houston Baptist in its season opener on Nov. 9. Four players scored in double figures for TCU in the win over the Huskies. Graduate senior Lauren Heard led the Horned Frogs posting her 10th career double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds. Aahliyah Jackson and Kayla Mokwuah added 12 points each, while Tavy Diggs totaled 10 points for TCU.
TCU returns 11 letterwinners including all five starters from last season's team that finished with an overall record of 10-15 and 4-14 in conference play for an eighth-place finish in the Big 12.
Up next, the Green Wave will host South Alabama on Saturday, Nov. 20, inside the Avron B. Fogelman Arena in the Devlin Fieldhouse. Tipoff against the Jaguars is scheduled for 4 p.m. CT and will be aired on ESPN+.
