Volleyball Sets Off for Its Last Road Weekend of the Season

New Orleans - The Tulane University volleyball team will take to the road later this week for a pair of weekend matchups. The Wave will head to Dallas to face SMU on Friday, before making their way to Memphis for a Sunday match. The weekend of conference play will mark the penultimate week of regular season play.

The Green Wave will go into Friday's match looking for their first win against SMU this season. Tulane last met the Mustangs in October when they fell 2-3.

Sunday's match against Memphis will be the second meeting between the teams this season. When the teams last met in October, Tulane clinched the win 3-1.

RANKINGS
Tulane was picked fourth in 2021 American Athletic Conference Volleyball Preseason Poll, returning nearly the entire roster from the spring 2021 season. After twelve weeks of play Tulane currently sits in sixth in the AAC. Meanwhile SMU sits in a tie with Cincinnati at 10-6 for fourth place and Memphis is knotted up with ECU for eighth place finishes with a 5-11 record.

AWARDS
The Green Wave picked up two preseason all-conference team selections in seniors Lexie Douglas and Kayla Dinkins. Tulane has also earned four AAC weekly honor roll selections in Michelle Urquhart, Anna Davis, Douglas, Dinkins and Mackenzie Martin.

Tulane sits in fifth in the AAC leaderboard for kills with a team number of 1393.
Tulane holds three places on the AAC's top 20 leaderboard in hitting percentage in Kayla Dinkins, Anna Davis and Yvette Burcescu.
Tulane is second in hitting percentage in the AAC with a .241 clip.
Tulane has earned AAC weekly honor roll selections in Michelle Urquhart, Davis, Douglas (3), Dinkins (2) and Mackenzie Martin.
Dinkins sits at fifth in school history in block assists with 372 she is three away from breaking into fourth.
Douglas is third in program history with 1552 kills.
Taylor Henigsman and Urquhart lead the Green Wave with 6 double doubles this season, Lexie Douglas comes in third with 5 and rounding out the group is Chelsea Harvey with 2.
Henigsman leads the AAC in assists per set this season averaging 10.15 assists a set.
Douglas is 10th in the AAC in kills, Urquhart follows closely in 14th.
Douglas is 10th in the AAC in points, Urquhart follows closely in 11th, and Dinkins rounds out the list in 19th.
Henigsman is seventh in program history in assists at 2,410.
Jillian Dits sits in 16th in the AAC with 265 digs averaging 2.79 a set.
Sophia Ervanian sits in 17th in the AAC with 330 digs averaging 2.78 a set.
Earlier in the season, Martin broke the program record for most digs in a single match, 41.
