Tulane Green Team Evens Fall World Series at Two Games Apiece

NEW ORLEANS – Green Team captain Luis Aviles drilled a two-out walkoff double in the bottom half of the seventh inning to push his squad to a 4-3 win over the Blue Team in Game Four of the Fall Ball World Series on Friday inside Green Field at Turchin Stadium.

Facing elimination with two outs in the bottom of the seventh, Aviles worked battled back from a 1-2 hole and on the 10th-pitch of the at bat, he laced the ball into left field which allowed teammates Ethan Groff, Teo Banks and Trevor Minder to come into score.

With the win, the Green Team forced a fifth and decisive fifth game in the Fall Ball World Series. The game is set for Sunday inside Greer Field at Turchin Stadium. First pitch is set for 11:40 a.m.
In addition to Aviles' game-winning double, the Green Team also got a strong performance from Minder who finished the game with a team-best two hits.

Chandler Welch picked up the win for the Green Team, as he posted 3.0 innings of scoreless relief and held the Blue Team's offense in check as they were unable to add on to their lead.

Prior to its three-run seventh, the Green Team trailed by a 3-1 count. The Blue Team put up a three-run inning in the fourth inning. Freshman Jackson Linn highlighted the frame for the Blue Team.

Linn laced a two-out single into left field, which plated two runners to give the Blue Team the lead. Redshirt junior Jared Hart followed with a single left field to make the count 3-1.

The Green Team opened the scoring in the second thanks to a solo home run by Seth Beckstead.
