LuisPablo Navarro (2-2) started for Tulane and surrendered three runs on two walks and a hit without being able to record an out. He was the first of 10 pitchers used by the Green Wave. Jack Brafa pitched an inning with three runs allowed (two earned) on three hits. Jude Abbadessa lasted just 0.1 of an inning before exiting after allowing three runs. Jacob Moore went 0.2 of an inning and allowed two hits but no runs. Julius Ejike-Charles walked three and struck out a man in 0.1 of an inning. Jake Toproek had a scoreless 1.2 of an inning. Aidan Rath gave up a run on two hits in his inning of work. Caden Tarango allowed a run on two hits with a strikeout. Tom Vincent allowed a pair of runs in his inning out of the bullpen. Trey Cehajic threw a scoreless inning in the eighth to close the game out for the team.
Jason Wachs led the team with three hits and three RBIs including his seventh home run of the season. Johnny Elliott racked up a pair of hits. He also scored and drove in a run. Tye Wood walked and scored a run. Matthias Haas had a hit and a walk. Nate Johnson hit his fourth home run of the season. James Agabedis scored a run. Kaikea Harrison totaled a hit and an RBI. Tanner Chun picked up two hits and a run scored.
The win went to LSU's Danny Lachenmayer (2-0). He went three innings and allowed a run on four hits with five strikeouts.
LSU scored first with six runs in the opening frame. Cade Arrambide started the scoring with a two-run home run. He was followed by an RBI double from Steven Milani, an RBI double from John Pearson, an RBI single from Seth Dardar, and an RBI ground out from William Patrick.
The Tigers added three runs to the advantage in the second inning, 9-0, on Milani's two run double and an RBI single from Dardar.
Tulane scored the team's first run of the game, 9-1, on a Wachs RBI double in the third to drive in Chun.
The Green Wave scored a pair of runs in the fourth, 9-3, on back-to-back RBI doubles from Elliott and Harrison.
Tulane drew a pair of runs closer, 9-5, on a two-run home run from Wachs in the fifth. It was his team leading seventh home run of the season.
LSU got one of the runs back in the bottom of the frame, 10-5, on Milam's sacrifice fly.
The Tigers again made it a six-run lead with a run, 11-5, in the sixth inning on a ground out by Patrick.
LSU scored a pair more of runs in the seventh inning, 13-5, on Peterson's home run to left field.
Tulane made it a 13-6 game in the top of the eighth on Nate Johnson's fourth home run of the season in what would be the final margin.
Next, Tulane returns home to take on South Florida (29-18, 8-13 American) for a three-game conference set starting on Friday, May 8, at 6:30 p.m. on Greer Field at Turchin Stadium.
