
Volleyball Drops Sunday’s Match to Wichita State

WICHITA, Kansas - The Tulane University volleyball team ended its road weekend with a loss to the Shockers of Wichita State. The Green Wave fought hard but couldn't inch ahead losing three straight sets 25-22, 25-23 and 26-24.
Despite the score, Tulane (15-11, 8-6) produced offensively, hitting .243 as a group with 41 kills. The Shockers (15-8, 9-5) attacked early and often as well, attacking at a .221 clip as a team.
Senior Yvette Burcescu led the Green Wave with 9 kills and hit a staggering .467. Freshman Michelle Urquhart matched Burcescu's at 9 kills hitting .319.
Middle blockers Anna Davis and Kayla Dinkins both had eight kills and three blocks.
Freshman setter Chelsea Harvey did her part coming off the bench with 30 assists.
Sophomore libero Sophia Ervanian carried the defense with 14 digs. Senior Lexie Douglas chipped in with nine digs of her own.
Tulane will be back Uptown Friday Nov. 12, to take on the Bearcats from Cincinnati.
