
Indoor Track and Field Opens Season at the BSC Icebreaker

NEW ORLEANS – The Tulane indoor track and field team is set to open its 2021-22 season this weekend as they head to Birmingham, Alabama to compete in the Birmingham Southern College Ice Breaker on Friday.
The field events will begin at 9 a.m. at the Birmingham CrossPlex, starting with the weight throw and followed by the shot put and long jump. The pole vault will begin at 10 a.m., followed by the triple jump at 1 p.m. and the high jump at 2 p.m.
Running events begin with the women's 60H at 8:30 a.m. and the men's 60H at noon. The 60-meter dash is next up at 9 a.m. and will be followed by the 3K at 10 a.m. The one-mile is set to start at 2 p.m., before the 400-meter, 800-meter and 200-meter races begin at the top of the next three hours. Relays will be the final events of the meet, with the distance medley relay and the 4x400 relay.
22 members of Tulane's team are making the trip to Birmingham this weekend, with three competing in the shot put, two in the high jump, two in the long jump, five in the pole vault and three in the triple jump. The Green Wave are sending five women to race in the 60-meter, four to run in the 200-meter and three to face-off in the 400-meter.
