Women's Tennis Takes Down Southeastern Louisiana, 6-1

NEW ORLEANS - The Tulane women's tennis team won its seventh straight home match and improved to 6-0 at the City Park Tennis Center in 2021 with a 6-1 home victory over Southeastern Louisiana on Saturday afternoon.
The Green Wave (6-3) got the day started with another strong showing in doubles, picking up victories on all three courts. Lahari Yelamanchili and Charlotte Russell made quick work of the Lions (1-3) on court three, 6-1, before Adelaide Lavery and Kristen Borland clinched the doubles point on court two, 6-3.
The 54th-ranked duo of Mary Caroline Meredith and Mackenzie Clark made it a clean sweep on court one with a 6-3 win, improving their record to 4-2 this spring.
Tulane kept the momentum in its favor early in singles, winning the first set on five courts. Russell (court five), Yelamanchili (court four) and Cora Barber (court six) all won in straight sets to propel the Green Wave to a clinch with a 4-0 advantage. Southeastern La., got on the scoreboard with a win on court one, but Lavery and Borland were able to close out courts two and three, respectively, to complete the dominant performance.
The Green Wave are scheduled to return to action next Sunday, February 28 at home to host South Alabama at noon.
