Mar 1, 2021 | Men's Basketball
Forbes has now been honored by The American six times this season and in four of the last five weeks. In February, he was honored Feb. 1, Feb, 15 and Feb. 22 after also garnering recognition on Nov. 30 and Jan. 4.
A native of Florence, Miss., Forbes averaged 24.5 points, 6.5 rebounds and 1.5 steals while shooting 60 percent from 3-point range in two games for the Green Wave. Forbes scored a career-high 37 points and made a personal-best seven 3-pointers at Cincinnati on Feb. 26. His 37 are the most by any player in The American this season, and the most by a Tulane player since Ledaryl Billingsley scored 38 in an overtime game against Charlotte in 2001.
Earlier in the week, Forbes registered his first-career double-double with 12 points and a career-high 10 rebounds at Memphis on Feb. 24.
He has now scored at least 30 points twice and 20 points on six different occasions while reaching double-figures in 18 of the Green Wave's 20 games this season.
Tulane (9-11, 4-11 AAC) returns home to host Wichita State on Wednesday, March 3. Tipoff is set for 5 p.m., at Avron B. Fogelman Arena in the Devlin Fieldhouse, and the game will be broadcast on ESPN+.
