Women's Tennis Collects 4-1 Road Win at North Texas

DENTON, Texas - The Tulane women's tennis team picked up its second road win of the season in a 4-1 decision over North Texas on Friday afternoon.
The Green Wave (9-4) took the attack to the Mean Green (2-8) early in doubles, as 54th-ranked Mackenzie Clark and Mary Caroline Meredith collected a 6-2 win on court one. With both matches on courts two and three tied, 6-6, respectively, Kristen Borland and Adelaide Lavery fought through the tiebreaker for a 7-4 victory to give Tulane a 1-0 lead heading into singles.
The Wave pushed North Texas to the brink when Meredith won, 6-4, 7-5, on court one and Charlotte Russell closed out court six, 6-3, 6-4, to extend the advantage to 3-0.
Despite the Mean Green getting on the scoreboard with a straight-set win on court three, the 108th-ranked Clark clinched on court two with a 6-3, 7-5 win. With the victory, Clark improves to 5-1 this spring.
Tulane turns around to face American Athletic Conference foe SMU in Dallas on Saturday at noon.
