
Jordan Earns Final AAC Weekly Honor

NEW ORLEANS – Freshman JerKaila Jordan of the Tulane University women's basketball team was named to the American Athletic Conference Honor Roll, the league announced today.
Jordan was named to the honor roll after posting 20 points, four rebounds and three steals in the win over ECU. She shot 7-10 from the field and 6-8 from the free throw line in the win over the Pirates.
Jordan currently ranks in the top 10 in the American Athletic Conference in scoring (16.8), field goal percentage (.497), free throw percentage (.719) and steals (2.1). She ranks eighth in points per game and field goal percentage in the nation among all freshmen. She leads all freshman in The American in both categories.
The award marks the 10th time Jordan has earned a conference weekly honor this season. The New Orleans native was previously named Freshman of the Week on Nov. 30, Dec. 7, Jan. 4, Jan. 18, Feb. 1, Feb. 22 and March 1. She also earned player of the week honors on Dec. 14 and the honor roll Feb. 8. She holds the American Athletic Conference all-time record for winning Freshman of the Week by a single play, after earning the award seven times this season.
Jordan has been joined by seniors Krystal Freeman (Nov. 30; Dec. 21; Jan. 11; March 1) and Arsula Clark (Jan. 18), junior Dynah Jones (Jan. 4) and sophomore Salma Bates (Feb. 15) as the five Green Wave players to be honored by the conference this season.
Up next, the Green Wave will head to Fort Worth, Texas, for the American Athletic Conference Tournament in Dickies Arena. Tulane has earned a bye for the first round and will tip-off the tournament on Tuesday, March 9. The Olive and Blue will be the No. 4 seed in the tournament and will take on No. 5 seed Temple at 11 a.m. in the quarterfinals Tuesday.
