
Track and Field Set to Compete at Boots Garland Invitational

NEW ORLEANS - The Tulane track and field team will travel to Baton Rouge for the Boots Garland Invitational hosted by LSU on Saturday, April 17.
The Green Wave will contend against 12 other schools at Bernie Moore Stadium.
The meet will kick off at 9:30 a.m. with the discus. The hammer throw will be next at 1 p.m., followed by the long jump at 1:45. The high jump will begin at 2, leading to the pole vault at 3 p.m. The shot put is next at 3:15 and then the triple jump and javelin at 4.
Track events will begin at 1:30 p.m. with the 4x100m relay. The women's 1500m run will be next at 1:40 followed by the men's 1500m run. The 100m hurdles will start at 2:15. After that will be the women's and then the men's 400m run. Next up is the women's and then the men's 800m run starting at 3:20. The 400m hurdles will begin at 3:40 followed by the 200m dash, women followed by men. Next for the Green Wave are the women's and then the men's 3000m run at 4:35 p.m. Closing out the meet will be the 4x400m relay at 5:05 p.m.
Tri Malej competes in the long jump this week coming off another win last weekend in the triple jump at the Crimson Tide Invitational with a mark of 13.28m. Malej holds the Tulane outdoor record, as well as the leading mark in the conference, and is currently tied for eighth-best mark nationally for the triple jump.
Tulane will compete in the 4x100m relay for the first time season, as well as their 4x400m relay team.
This will be the second to last regular season outdoor meet for the Green Wave. This is also the first of two weekends in Baton Rouge for the team, with the LSU Invitational held next Saturday, May 1.
