Summer Spotlight: Volleyball's Nicole Levine

In the first Summer Spotlight series, Tulane Athletics highlights volleyball's Nicole Levine as she prepares to start medical school at Tulane next fall.
What are your plans for this summer?
"I'm planning on relaxing this summer! I have a month before I will come back to New Orleans and move into my new apartment, and I plan on spending it with my friends and family! I have a couple trips planned, like going to Cape Cod, as well. I'm looking forward to enjoying my last real break before my schooling restarts."
What are you looking forward to most about starting medical school in the fall?
"I'm really looking forward to being one step closer to my dream career. Ever since high school, I have been taking courses and working towards this goal of becoming a doctor. Now that I'm about to be in medical school, becoming a doctor seems so much closer. I am also really looking forward to learning what I'm most passionate about. I have a few different career paths in mind, but I can't wait to figure out which one is the best for me!"
How did your undergraduate career at Tulane help prepare you for this next step?
"Tulane definitely prepared me for this next step in more ways than I can express. The professors pushed me to study hard and diligently. It also provided me with friends who supported me more than I supported myself on some days."
How do you feel about spending another four years in New Orleans and at Tulane?
"I love it!! I am not ready to leave this city. I have so much love for Tulane University and the doors it has opened for me. Quite honestly, after I was accepted, there was no question about whether or not I should enroll in Tulane's Medical school. I am so excited to stay here and have Tulane continue to guide me towards my medical profession."
How did Tulane volleyball shape your time in NOLA and help prepare you for the future?
"I am so grateful for Tulane volleyball. Being on a team at this level has allowed me to better understand and interact with the people around me, which will definitely help me in my medical career. It was humbling working hard for something outside of the classroom as well. Most of all, it pushed me to learn good time-management skills in order to succeed in the classroom. This volleyball family really pushed me to be the best version of myself these past four years, and I look forward to taking these lessons with me throughout my medical career."
